Cross one more name off the list of famous musicians who were asked to perform at Donald Trump‘s inauguration. Popular opera singer Andrea Bocelli, who was widely reported to have been planning to sing at the event, is now turning it down instead. This comes after everyone from Elton John to Garth Brooks did the same, with virtually no one of note wanting to be aligned with the illegitimately elected and admitted sexual predator Trump. So who’s left?
Now that Andrea Bocelli is definitely out according to this Page Six report, hardly anyone is in. America’s Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho, who is supposedly set to perform the National Anthem, has yet to say no. This comes even as she faces mounting backlash for participating in the inauguration of an administration which includes radically anti-LGBT Mike Pence, even though her own sister is transgender.
But while it remains to be seen whether Evancho may ultimately pull the plug on her inauguration performance, it appears that Andrea Bocelli simply didn’t want the controversy and backlash from his own fan base. Page Six reports that, according to its source, “Bocelli said there was no way he’d take the gig… he was getting too much heat.” Trump’s inauguration is on track to be the most embarrassingly D-list event in modern American history..
